Propanediol is a natural alternative for the often used and often bad-mouthed propylene glycol. It's produced sustainably from corn sugar and it's Ecocert approved.

It's quite a multi-tasker: can be used to improve skin moisturization, as a solvent, to boost preservative efficacy or to influence the sensory properties of the end formula.

Good old water, aka H2O. The most common skincare ingredient of all. You can usually find it right in the very first spot of the ingredient list, meaning it’s the biggest thing out of all the stuff that makes up the product.

It’s mainly a solvent for ingredients that do not like to dissolve in oils but rather in water.

Once inside the skin, it hydrates, but not from the outside - putting pure water on the skin (hello long baths!) is drying.

One more thing: the water used in cosmetics is purified and deionized (it means that almost all of the mineral ions inside it is removed). Like this, the products can stay more stable over time.

Understanding Sulfates

Sulfates are a large group of ingredients which act as cleansing agents in Cosmetics. They help loosen up the dirt and grime from your skin and hair to allow for water to wash it away with ease. Balea Beauty Expert Calming Serum with 0,3% Ceramide Complex

There is also only one serum step, the Balea Beauty Expert Calming Serum with 0,3% Ceramide Complex (30 ml for 5,95 €, fragrance-free, vegan, full review coming soon). I think it makes sense to add a calming serum into the line as the potential actives, the exfoliating acids and retinoids, are present in the cleanser, the toner and the night cream. After all inflammation and skin irritation are important factors when it comes to premature aging, and Ceramides are part of the skin’s outermost layer, creating the skin barrier you surely already have heard of that prevents transepidermal water loss and reduces irritation. The product itself has the texture of a light lotion, maybe not perfect for the dropper bottle it is packaged in, feels very soothing on the skin and has a nutty, earthy scent. I really enjoy using it as I feel it smoothes and calms my skin and can be used with every other product you decide to pair it with. Oily skins might even be able to use it instead of their moisturizer as last step, saving you a layer in the heat.

Die Beauty Expert Peeling Bodylotion mit 5% AHA-Komplex verwende ich schon seit einiger Zeit, habe aber ganz ehrlich vergessen, es in die Im Test-Liste aufzunehmen. Deswegen hatte sogar ich vergessen, darüber zu schreiben, was ich wohl hiermit nachhole.

Ich persönlich habe nicht mitbekommen, dass Balea die Bodylotion heraus gebracht hat. Auch bei regelmäßigen Besuchen der "Neu"-Seite auf dm.de ist mir die Bodylotion nicht aufgefallen. Beim Besuch in der Filiale habe ich sie aber zufällig entdeckt und gleich mitgenommen.

Ich hatte schon vor längerer Zeit über eine AHA Bodylotion von ISANA aus der Pure-Serie berichtet und Balea scheint sich hier ein Beispiel genommen und eine ähnlich wirkende Formel heraus gebracht zu haben, wobei sich die Wirkstoffe stark unterscheiden - der Effekt aber *ähnlich* ist.

Die Bodylotion riecht wahnsinnig lecker und gibt einen Energiekick. Der Straffungseffekt ist aber nur kurzfristig vorhanden.

Die Balea Hautstraffende Q10 + Energy Bodylotion mit Acai-Beeren-Extrakt enthält 400ml und ist bei dm für 1,95 € erhältlich (Eigenmarke). Sie kommt ohne Parabene, Paraffine / Mineralöle aus und ist vegan.

Meine persönliche Erfahrung mit der Bodylotion

Hallo Ihr Lieben, ich möchte euch von der hautstraffenden Bodylotion von Balea berichten, die ich nun schon länger verwende.

Der Deckel ließ sich bei mir mit einem Klicken immer wieder fest verschließen, so dass man die Lotion auch mit auf Reisen nehmen kann.

Die Öffnung hat die richtige Größe um das Produkt wunschgenau zu dosieren. Die Lotion selbst ist weiß und hat eine leichte, nicht fettende Konsistenz. Ich habe besonders im Sommer nur wenig davon gebraucht, da sie sich sehr gut verteilen lässt. Sie zieht innerhalb weniger Sekunden komplett in die Haut ein und es bleibt ein glattes, weiches, geschmeidiges Hautgefühl zurück. Für den Winter ist mir die Lotion bei meiner trockenen Haut nicht reichhaltig genug. Im Sommer versorgt sie meine Haut aber auf jeden Fall bis zur nächsten Dusche ausreichend mit Feuchtigkeit.

Einen Straffungseffekt hatte die Lotion auch. Dieser ist aber nur kurzfristig und hält bei mir ca. 4-6 Stunden an. In dieser Zeit sieht die Haut an den Beinen glatter aus. Ehrlicherweise muss man sagen, dass keine Lotion die Cellulite verschwinden lassen kann, da hilft nur gesundes Essen, viel Sport und die Genetik spielt auch eine Rolle.

Was ich an der Lotion absolut liebe, ist der Duft. Sie riecht mega frisch und lecker und gibt mir tatsächlich jedes mal einen Energiekick, wenn ich sie verwende. Da ich nicht weiß, wie Acai-Beeren im Original riechen, kann ich nicht sagen, ob das die entscheidende Komponente ist, aber es ist ein fruchtig frischer Duft, den ich mit nichts mir Bekanntem vergleichen kann.
