You’ve perceived that Elixir is not the same as Sauvage. In fact, it is far away from the buoyant Dior Sauvage with its deep and captivating portrait.
So, is Dior Elixir better than Sauvage?
According to my perspective, both scents are unique in their own way. And the answer to which one is better varies from person to person.
However, Dior Sauvage is the blind buy because anyone will love its smell. Moreover, it is worth the money.
Dior Elixir is also superb, but it is overpriced, and many people won’t like its intense smell.
So, if you’re looking for a cologne for use on a regular basis, opt for Dior Sauvage. But if you don’t have issues with spending bucks for a stronger scent, you can go for Elixir.
That’s all for today!

Dior Sauvage
Main Notes: Bergamot, Ambroxan, Lavender, Pepper, Woodsy Notes
This aromatic fougere fragrance was designed by Francois Demachy, who is super creative and passionate about making iconic perfumes.
The way Chanel achieved mass popularity and success with its Bleu De Chanel, the same happened to Dior when it launched Sauvage in 2015.
The inoffensive smell of Sauvage simply resembles the blue sky, green landscapes, waterfalls, and tropical environments. It is an amazing scent that you can use everywhere.
Sauvage Elixir
Main Notes: Spicy Notes, Lavender, Amber, Sandalwood
The powerful masculine scent was created by the same perfumer i.e, Francois Demachy, in 2021.
It is the robust, darker, and alluring version of Sauvage EDT. Whenever you go outside wearing this cologne, you’re guaranteed to grab attention and stare.
In the beginning, it is extremely loud & manly. But when it dries down, it represents a fully sensual and mature man who is passionate about making love.
Now it’s time to compare these two Dior fragrances. Because both of them are of great quality and highly appreciated. But we have to identify which one is the best performer.
Here is the comparison between Dior Sauvage & Elixir:
Sauvage starts off with a bright, spicy, and citrusy tone. The top of this cologne includes Calabrian bergamot and pepper. And you will get a strong hint of these ingredients.
When I take the first sniff, I can sense the pure flavor of freshly picked bergamot. It is not synthetic or overpowering, rather, it seems clean, vibrant, and satisfying.
The house of Dior was founded by the late Christian Dior more than 70 years ago in Paris, France. In February 1947, Christian Dior launched his first fashion collection for Spring–Summer 1947 named the “New Look“.
Christian Dior Parfums branch was established in 1947 or 1948, and the first perfume they ever released was the popular Miss Dior.
Eau Sauvage, Fahrenheit, Dior Homme, and Sauvage have been the major players and trend shifters in men’s perfumery, and are all still available on the market.
Today, Dior is owned by LVMH and controlled by French businessman Bernard Arnault(also a chairman of LVMH). Their wide variety of products is sold throughout retail stores worldwide, as well as through Dior’s online store.

Dior Sauvage Eau de Parfum was created by the former in-house Dior’s perfumer Francois Demachy in 2018, and it is the flanker of the original Sauvage Eau de Toilette from 2015.
Demachy imagined Eau de Parfum as enveloping, suave, mysterious, and sensual with additional new oriental notes such as vanilla, and spicy notes such as star anise and nutmeg.
The EDP version of Sauvage improved the longevity, depth, and sillage of the fragrance while still being
In 2015, Dior signed Johnny Depp as the face of their men’s fragrance Sauvage who as of Elixir flanker released in 2021 still stars as the main face for the product.
In this Dior Sauvage eau de parfum review, I’ll answer the question, “What does it smell like?” Inspired by the desert at twilight, primary fragrance notes are citrus and vanilla. It’s spicy, but fresh, with a warm, sweet finish. Christian Dior is an internationally renowned French fashion and beauty brand known for its emphasis on timelessness and refinement. Dior fragrances are an extension of this luxuriousness and inventiveness.
Part of a quartet of scent intensities, Dior Sauvage eau de parfum (EDP) was the second to be released, as it was launched in 2018. The original Sauvage, an eau de toilette, was introduced three years earlier, in 2015, the parfum was released in 2019, and lastly, in 2021, Dior presented the most concentrated version, an elixir. As a former in-house perfumer at Dior, François Demachy was the nose behind them all.
For the eau de parfum concentration, Demachy introduces you to the scent with crisp, complex Calabrian bergamot notes. It releases hints of spiciness in addition to its aromatic notes.
At the heart of this fragrance is Sichuan pepper, star anise, nutmeg, and lavender – more spicy and herbaceous notes. Sauvage EDP dries down to musky amber and sensuous vanilla.
