Exclusive: Christie Brinkley has a new lease of life as she shares rare details of love life

At 68, Christie Brinkley has a new lease of life - and the potential for new love. The model-turned-entrepreneur has revealed that although she has not been looking for romance, a friend recently made an introduction and she is excited to see "what happens".

That being said, Christie's main passion at the moment is purely professional. She is launching a new range of still wines under her Bellissima brand, which features the hugely popular zero sugar, vegan, and certified organic prosecco. Launched four years ago, the brand blossomed when the wife of an Italian vineyard owner decided Christie would be the perfect partner after watching her on Instagram.

"I bought this house 23 years ago and it's the longest I have ever been in any one place. I lived like a gypsy my whole life and this wasn't supposed to be my house for this long - it was a holding station – but then it turned into this amazing place to raise a family.

"It has hills and a pond, and when we get snow in the winter kids come from near and far and bring sleds, and everyone including my kids would play. In the summertime we have barns and chickens and puppies and room for everyone to spread out and come home. It's a real family compound, and it's such a nice family house.

"It was originally built by the Gardiner family, who had an island off the coast, their own private sovereign domain before the revolution, and a famous pirate once buried treasure there. The tower has so much history, they found the oldest flag in America that predates Betsy Ross, it's the Hulbert flag and it's now in a museum.

She does yoga with her dogs.

One of Christie's favorite forms of exercise is yoga. She enjoys the physical benefits of the exercise, it also gives her time to bond with her pets. "I love yoga," she says. "Every time I'm doing it, I've got both dogs aiming for my face, trying to give me kisses."

The dog mom will wear Alo yoga leggings, and her favorite poses are the downward dog (obviously) and Shavasana because they optimize the puppy cuddles. Awww.

Christie has certainly got this healthy lifestyle thing down to a science!

In an Instagram post on March 19, Brinkley had revealed that she had basal cell carcinoma removed from her face, posting a photo of herself with a bandage over the extraction point. In the caption, she explained the procedure and encouraged others to get checked out.

“The good news for me is we caught the basal cell carcinoma early. And I had great doctors that removed the cancer and stitched me up to perfection like an haute couture Dior,” said the fashion modeling icon, who has appeared on over 500 magazine covers over her 51-year career.

Brinkley also thanked a trio of doctors at New York’s Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York — Dr. Abraham, Dr. Anolik, Dr. Geronemus and Dr. Lloyd Hoffman — in the Instagram post.

Christie Brinkley was discovered in Paris thanks to her dog

After completing middle school in the public system, Christie Brinkley's parents enrolled her at the Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles in the 9th grade (pictured above). "I loved my school Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles, because my classes were conducted in French, and my uniform included a Beret!" Brinkley posted on Instagram. "Underneath that beret was a head full of dreams of living in a chambre de bonne (a [garret]) with a window looking over the rooftops of Paris, painting canvasses into the night while singing along to Edith Piaf, Serge [Gainsbourg], and Jacque[s] Brel."

Her dreams would eventually come true. After high school, Brinkley moved to Paris to study art at the age of 18, according to Porter. Brinkley did live in a garret, like she had wished all those years earlier, and married an artsy Frenchman, illustrator Jean-François Allaux. Early on in their relationship, Allaux was drafted into the French military and was away for long periods of time. To make up for this loneliness, Brinkley adopted a puppy, according to Porter.

Christie Brinkley has no interest in retired life

Christie Brinkley continued to rock the fashion industry's world throughout her life. According to The New York Times magazine, she has been featured on more than a whopping 500 magazine covers. In 2017, at 63, she once again graced the pages of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue, this time in the company of her daughters, Alexa Ray Joel and Sailor Brinkley-Cook, whom she had with her fourth husband, architect Peter Halsey Cook (who adopted Brinkley's son, Jack, fruit of her marriage to real estate developer Richard Taubman). "This is a real full circle moment for me," Brinkley told SI Swimsuit.

While modeling, Brinkley also developed a noteworthy acting career. She starred opposite Chevy Chase in 1983's "National Lampoon's Vacation," a role she reprised in its 1997 sequel and again in 2019 in "The Goldbergs." In 1994, Brinkley appeared in a popular episode of "Mad About You," earning her praise from critics. "NBC has promoted this episode so much that the appearance of Christie Brinkley is no surprise — but the playful high level of her performance is," The Baltimore Sun wrote. She went on to host "Living in the 90s with Christie Brinkley" on CNN. Since 2017, she has been a panelist on "Match Game."

Clearly, Brinkley has no desire to take her foot off the gas. "Why would you retire? I can see taking longer vacations, but always keep your foot in the door," Brinkley told Porter in 2018. "Otherwise, that's when you get old."
